ER70S-6 is a high-strength carbon steel TIG (GTAW) filler rod designed for welding mild and low alloy steels. It contains higher levels of manganese and silicon deoxidizers, which provide superior weld puddle fluidity, improved wetting action, and excellent tolerance to mill scale or light rust. The weld deposit offers good mechanical properties, high impact strength, and smooth bead appearance with minimal spatter.
Applications:
ER70S-6 is widely used for general fabrication, automotive components, structural steel works, pressure vessels, and pipelines. It is ideal for sheet metal welding, pipe welding, and repair work where clean, strong, and smooth welds are required. Suitable for use with argon or argon/COâ‚‚ shielding gas in the GTAW process.

ER70S-2 is a triple-deoxidized (titanium, zirconium, and aluminum) carbon steel TIG filler rod designed for high-quality welding of mild and low alloy steels. The unique deoxidizer formulation ensures superior weld cleanliness, sound fusion, and excellent mechanical properties, even on dirty, oily, or rusty surfaces. The weld metal exhibits high ductility, toughness, and uniform bead appearance.
Applications:
ER70S-2 is typically used in aerospace, automotive, piping, and pressure vessel fabrication, as well as root pass welding, orbital tube welding, and critical code applications requiring high-quality, radiographic-grade welds. It performs best with pure argon shielding gas in TIG/GTAW welding.
